March 18th – On a grey, cold morning in Darlaston, the hedgerows, scrub and edgelands are turning the colours of new growth.
Everywhere you look, leaf buds are opening and the fresh colours of spring’s palette are coming to the fore.
As winters go, it’s not been a bad one. Let’s hope summer is as good as lat year.

April 5th – I noted from the local news reports today that these old derelict buildings on Park Lane on the Darlaston/Wednesbury border are now scheduled for demolition and replacement with new housing – not before time, either: they’ve been derelict for as long as I can remember; an eyesore, they’re of no historic value whatsoever and in times of a housing shortage, their replacement is long overdue.
What is interesting – and I’d never noticed it before until @thestymaster commented today on Twatter about it – the old garage sign here is a bit of an antique, but it has sadly seen better days.
June24th – Franchise Street, Darlaston. On an otherwise decaying, unremarkable house, a silver dragon fineal tops the gable.
I have no idea. The house was hard to photograph, as the neighbours were about.
Is this culturally significant somewhere do we know?
June 24th – I don’t know who he is, but this proud cat was loafing by the terrace of houses just at the eastern end of Kings Hill Park in Darlaston. The fact that he’s tailless doesn’t seem to be bothering him much.
A lovely lad. his coat shone – someone loves this puss very much!
March 24th – From Fallings Heath, the twin sisters of Wednesbury: St. Bart’s and St. Mary’s looking splendid in the evening sun.
I know I keep banging on about it, but the TZ70 is light years ahead of the old camera. Very pleased with this shot.
