March 13th – Coming back up Brownhills High Street I encountered more than the usual share of morons. It was clearly drive like an idiot day, and yet again I appear to have missed the memo. This vehicle – operating as part of Walsall’s Ring and Ride service, the transport provider for people with limited mobility. Is the driver trying to increase the customer base? Note they’re already indicating left when they overtake. Idiot. And yes, my lights were on…

March 12th – I was amused by this wonderful piece of driving at Rushall Square, just north of Walsall, yesterday. Not dangerous, but a symptom of someone not concentrating, one wonders what was going through his mind. Didn’t seem to be on the phone, either, which is the usual cause of this kind of thing.

February 9th – On the A461 Lichfield Road, between Rushall and Shelfield, a truly remarkable bit of parking. The rear tyre of this car hasn’t made it onto the pavement, but is about two inches clear of the road, too. One assumes the driver is too lazy or incompetent to even park the car properly, let alone the legality of leaving it on the pavement. Sadly, I doubt if a parking enforcement officer will wander this far from the revenue stream in central Walsall….

October 19th – Another moron who can’t wait a couple of seconds, causing me to brake to make allowance for his impetuosity. There’s really no need for this – he didn’t save any time, and just pissed me off. Is there a gene that makes some folk like this, or is it a hormone thing?

For fans of the ride videos, they’re difficult right now because of the sun angle at the time I got to work. Hence this one is a bit dingy. Hoping the situation will improve soon.

5th October – This one is far more serious. Recently, the Whitehouse junction in Aldridge was resurfaced an re designed. It’s now horrid to cycle across, and encourages the type of driver behaviour demonstrated above. The guy cuts me up, then stops his car, opens the door and shouts something abusive at me (I couldn’t hear what, due to the wind). I notice he didn’t seem to want to hang around and discuss the issue. All I did was shake my head and mutter.

EY52ANE – you’re dangerous. Please consider your behaviour and it’s effect on others, before you kill somebody.

5th October – There seemed to be a lot of dodgy driving today as I rode home from Darlaston. This one, at the Pleck Road Junction near the former Brown Lion pub, Walsall – although not terrible in itself, was somewhat annoying. Clearly the result of queuing across the junction. The lady driver giving me the finger as I cycled past was a particularly tasteful touch, I thought.

August 24th – On my way home at sundown. Walsall Road, Fallings Heath, Darlaston. Watch for the car coming out of the side road on the right. Lights on front and back didn’t stop this dozy woman in the black car from not seeing me. To compound the irritation, she smiled at me and waved me on, like I was in the wrong. They just don’t get it…

August 2nd – Coming through Shelfield on my way home, my attention was snagged by the sound of an engine being over-revved. In the distance, I saw the snap of a large Transit hand coming fast in the opposite direction. Sensing the danger, I pulled up. The driver was driving so fast that when he crossed the speed bump near the Four Crosses Junction, there was a loud bang as the vehicle grounded.

I can only assume he was late for tea. Such speed is unnecessary on such residential roads. I’m looking on Darwinism to sort this one out.

July 18th –  * bonus muppet * (actually filmed on Monday 11th of July, but forgotten) – This just defies any explanation. Scarborough Road, Walsall, about 10am. The day is clear and sunny. Visibility is good. Driver made eye contact with me initially, and just ploughed on. I think she was half asleep, or just plan stupid. Half of me laughed at her, and the other half was horrified.
