March 27th – Hands up, who knew there were still the ruins of a windmill on the Caldmore-Highgate border in Walsall?
One of the town’s best-kept secrets. It would be nice to see it preserved, or even restored.

August 2nd – Help! I have no idea what these are, and I only spotted them by chance. Growing on the ramp near Telford Station, they look like blueberries, but the red stalks and holly-like leaves have confounded all searches. Clearly an ornamental, I’d love to know what it is.
May 21st – One for the botanists. I have no idea what this is. It’s rather lovely, and growing just on the edge of the railway bridge in Hollyhill Lane, just on the edge of Shenstone. I scoured the hedgerows on the way home, but couldn’t see any other examples.
What a gorgeous flower. Any ideas?
